They do have a non-plaid version. Maybe they would work for you, since, as I pointed out, they're a low-cut waist. So maybe your stomach wouldn't come into play. They just shipped today, but when they come in I'll post a picture to give an idea of their fit on a "real" person and not those stick models they love to use.

I like the baggy PIs, just got a pair. I can only afford one more pair of shorts though so have to choose carefully - I also want a pair of bib-shorts
No-No - does the plaid shorts come with a front pocket down the leg? It looks like it. I am also considering getting a pair of inexpensive cargo shorts and wearing the liner from my PI shorts...
Oakley shorts fit wonderfully for a curvy butt.
[QUOTE=NoNo;506045]I have the Zoic La Vida knickers and really like them! There are two snaps on the bottom so I can tighten them when I'm riding, and loosen them when I'm just walking around. The material is lightweight, and the liner is, well, Kick *** (that's the name of it, and it's very comfortable). I wasn't sure what to do about the sizing, as my waist put me at a small, but my hips put me at a medium. I went with the medium, and haven't had an issue, as the waist has velcro straps that you can pull in to adjust the fit.
No-No, I like the looks of the La Vida. Are they a baggy type short or are they more fitted? Thanks.![]()
Fresh pictures just for you!
As you can kind of see, they're about at their limit around my hips, and these are mediums. The right leg is on the first, "looser" snap, while the left is on the tighter, "biking" snap.
I have the waist straps pulled as far as they can go to get it to fit properly. Without those, I would certainly have the ever-unflattering gap over my rear
Hope that helps some!

No-No, Thanks so much, that was so nice of you!! Personalized pictures are a lot more helpful than the catalog pictures on websites. I really appreciate your trouble.
I like those shorts a lot, and have been looking for some but so far have just seen them in the black. I'm sure I'll find them though, I believe that's the oxford color.
Thanks again!
Thanks for the pics, and I like the nice deep pockets as well.
Didn't mean to take over the thread!Glad the pictures were helpful. I know I never find the catalog pictures particularly useful.
In what could be the fastest shipping ever, my Zoic All Night Long shorts arrived today.
I would say these sit about an inch lower than the La Vida's.
They're a little snug, but if I can work off some of my, uh, curves, they'll sit a little better. They don't pucker in the back when I sit, and I think the mediums would.
I should also point out I'm only 5'-1", so the length will be different for some of you. The material is slightly heavier and rougher than on the knickers, but very stretchy. I'm totally wearing these as normal shorts all summer!
I ordered the Sugoi Greta capris and my initial thoughts are they are roomy through the thigh but runs true to size in the waist and hip, which means it lays well without being too constricting. I was pleasantly surprised that the capri length fell closer to the mid-calf rather than at the knee.(I'm 5'6") It has 4-way stretch and is dressy enough to wear anywhere.
So for the ladies that have heavier legs, I think you will like this cut.
NoNo, thanks for modeling your new threads. It's helpful to read your reviews.![]()

I am petite (5'3") with a fairly small waist but wide hips.
I have tried the Portland Cyclery Messenger pants, which are really nice. But they did not fit me correctly. The rise was just too short to be comfortable and surprisingly the articulated knees hit me above my knee. They did fit snugly (but not too tightly) over the hips.
What has worked really well for me are the Terry Scooter Capris, one size smaller than normal. These just seem to fit me comfortably and are not too loose nor too tight. And the length is just right.

I'm looking into either Zoic or Chrome knicks. Tough to find a pair that is cheap for sure. I may just buy some dickies and make them cut-offs.![]()

a big thank you to the girls who took the time to take pics and post them! this helps too! i am not the stereotypical bike chick either. 5'5, curvy (understatement) and all my weight is in the hip/middle region. i'm a size 10 or 12 depending on the brand and i cannot buy shorts or knickers on line without knowing how they fit. i also refuse to wear spandex without something OVER it! no one needs to see that rear view!![]()
