I'm not sure how far I went because I haven't figured out the computer yet, but it took me an hour at a pretty decent clip. I even crossed a small bridge over the intercoastal waterway into Wrightsville Beach (NC). I'm feeling pretty darn cocky right now. That CANNOT be a good thing.
    Who needs friends anyway!
Actually, I sort of laughed at that suggestion myself. I think its a good one, but I don't have anyone I could call to do that either!

Friends?! What are those? I'm still a "ride on the sidewalk unless absolutely necessary" kind of gal.

Congratulations -- sounds like you did very well. Traffic is scary, but practice does help.

    Congratulations!
As others have said, it does get easier.
It's been my experience that my imaginings are much worse than reality. Talk about being my own worst enemy! When I finally do something - ride a new route or distance - I wonder what I was so worried about??!!

    Way to go!

I alternate between irrational terror and equally irrational fearlessness but it's best when I can feel quiet and just go ride.
