Actually my trainer didn't care for spinning - it was my cardio of choice, but she seemed to not really care for it. She said that she says she sees many many clients come in and overtrain in the spin classes, and many will either exhaust or hurt themselves.
So many people are brainwashed into thinking that they must do cardio, cardio, cardio to do weight. When in reality, building muscle is going to get you leaner and smaller faster. An added bonus is that the more muscle you have the more you burn. It is a matter of balancing weights, cardio and diet, but so many of the cardio bunnies don't get that.
