I think because I was hearing several "stories' , like for instance the dog has had all his shots, and I would get a crate with him, those both turned out not to be true. I had to take him to the vet for shots, and he did not like that at all. He doesn't need a crate at this point. I also have to wonder if the former owner might have said she was having him put down just to get some sympathetic person to adopt him, but my vet said people do it that way all the time. Can a vet refuse to do it? I'm glad I was able to save him, and got a nice companion in the process. It's unconscionable to end a dogs life because a person can't take care of him. I can't even imagine.
Can't take care of him, or doesn't feel like it anymore? I just jump to the conclusion that anyone who would put a dog down rather than try to find a new home for it is just too lazy to try. Anyone who really cared about their pet would have a hard time doing that. To me, it's a sign that that person shouldn't be allowed to have pets.I'm sure there are extenuating circumstances (the dog is vicious, the person is very ill, and has already tried everything in his power to place him with another family, etc).
I'm so glad he's found a good home!
Well done for giving that gorgeous dog a new home! It sounds like he's fit in with your "herd" very nicelyWhat a lucky puppy to have such a nice new family!
