I think because I was hearing several "stories' , like for instance the dog has had all his shots, and I would get a crate with him, those both turned out not to be true. I had to take him to the vet for shots, and he did not like that at all. He doesn't need a crate at this point. I also have to wonder if the former owner might have said she was having him put down just to get some sympathetic person to adopt him, but my vet said people do it that way all the time. Can a vet refuse to do it? I'm glad I was able to save him, and got a nice companion in the process. It's unconscionable to end a dogs life because a person can't take care of him. I can't even imagine.
