Awwwwww! So cute! Dogs are the best thing you can acquire in my opinion I'm at my city's legal limit otherwise I'd have more!

How sweet! Details, we want details-- is he full grown, mutt or identifiable breed, etc.?

Good luck with him and keep us updated

    doggie

What breed of doggie did you get?

He looks as if he's welcoming people into your house

I can't believe how lucky I got, actually. I overheard a conversation a co-worker was having about a friend of hers having to get her dog put down because she couldn't take care of it anymore. I could not let that happen obviously. I don't know what people think, or even if they think at all. So I had some major convincing to do to my husband. We lost a dog to old age health issues back in the fall, and I told him I wouldn't pressure him to get another dog. But after I saw Frodo's picture all bets were off.
He ( the dog, not the husband) has been worked with a lot and is very well trained. He is 2 years old. He is not hyper, but has a lot of energy and needs to exercise and be involved in a family. We definitely are that. We are a herd actually, between teenagers, cats, guinea pigs, friends etc.
He is good with the cats, and my schedule allows me to be home enough to take care of his needs. On the first day I had him we went visiting, and on a walk, and to Tractor Supply Company and he was a very well behaved boy.
To my best guess, he is an Australian shepherd, border collie mix, but I am taking him to the vet today for shots and a checkup. He has a blue eye and a brown eye. He's a very handsome dog.
I'll post more on the bike later. I still don't know which I'm more excited about!

That's just sick! You said he's only 2 years old and a good boy. What the heck was that dimwit thinking? I'm so GLAD you heard the conversation. He deserves a long, happy life with a pack that loves him.

I totally agree with that statement. I used to volunteer at our local Humane Society (which is not a "no kill" shelter) and I had to stop, it was just too much sometimes. I could not believe some people could just drop a dog off, turn around and, never look back. A dog or any pet, for that matter is a lifetime commitment--period!!!

I would have done the same in your shoes.
