    Great post. Very inspirational. You really learn who your friends are when you get pushed up a hill.

    Well, if I had been given the advice to stop wasting energy and stand up, I never would have gone up the hill; I would have been crying in the middle of the road. I gear down and spin up 15% grades, seated. Sure, I'm not fast, but I get up them and have since the beginning.
    Your story *is* inspirational, but I would have fallen over in the road if I geared up and stood on a climb...

    I already knew how to sit and spin up a hill. What I couldn't do was gear down, sit, and spin up a hill without getting spit out the back of the paceline.

    What those ladies taught me was how to ride well WITH the group, which is a total blast!

    OK, the difference is that I don't ride in a paceline.
    I just want to get up the hill!
