You gotta lighten up. What about those great trails you have around you. Is there anything out there that makes you smile?

Seeing yourself in a news photo! (was looking at the Duke welcome home coverage - and sure enough....) Kinda cool (even if it is blurry and no one will know who I am...).

And Duke winning a National Championship

I love ducks too. Contented waddling things, and so pretty. And pigs too, not quite as pretty but contented.

And cats, of course. Nothing like a cat pretending to be undignified (which would never happen, of course) to make me smile Our late beloved Raptus had a trick of spreading full out on her back with paws spread, apparently begging for a fuzzy belly rub, but if you didn't catch her beady look at the same time you'd get a handful of claws for your trouble.

Veronica, were you talking to me? .
I love everything about the geography and climate around me. I chose to move back here after 23 years of being away. It will be 20 years on June 4th. I have never, never regretted my choice. I can go out my door, in every season , and pretty much do the sport of my choice.

I'm not much for silly stuff, gushy stuff, jokes, etc. Always been overly realistic and practical. Well, there's plenty of TE people who have met me, to know I'm pretty normal, but I admit I don't like a lot of things most people get ga-ga over. I won't list the things here, or *I* might get on the list of things that piss people off!

Actually, you've been one of my favorite TE'ers for a long time. You're wise, smart, generous, and kind. You are absolutely yourself---no affectations. I love your perspective on things and I've learned a lot from you. You also have a very dry sense of humor.

Just as an aside, I've noticed that I smile more and and much more relaxed since I started learning how to ride...guess it goes back to the whole cycling=fountain of youth thing for me

Crankin - you, and others, have been very kind and helpful to this cycling novice - thanks to you and everyone else - TE makes me smile!

Thank you, V, for this thread.

I love when my neurotic male cat sits on my lap and purrs.

I love watching my dogs play.

I love my morning walks with the dogs.

I love waking up every day.

I love how my SO gets into doing "my stuff".

    I love where I live.

Getting back in the pool for the first time in (maybe 9?!) years and having a free stroke clinic start about 10 minutes later. Yay! Great confidence builder.

That's great! You'll have to post all about it in the swimming thread.

Baby red tail hawks, and the incredible gift of their parents' trust, which lets us see them so closely as they grow up.

There were signs of hatching at one nest yesterday, though we're not sure. This photo is from last year; I'm going to spend this afternoon standing on my tippy toes hoping to see a sweet little white head.

*When my 5yo kisses me on the nose.
*When my 9yo asks to cuddle.
*When the two of them play together...instead of bugging the crap out of eachother.
*When I go to the garage each morning and decide which bike to ride.
*When I get home from a hard day to a house that smells of clean floors and dinner cooking.

I love this thread And I love that there are so many things that make so many people here smile!

    For me:

That glorious feeling of having finished a uni essay. (Even if I've got another one due in a week)

My sister's neighbour's cat, Aubrey - a gorgeous, silly, distractable Maine Coon with an ENORMOUS fluffy tail and a wide-eyed innocent kitten look, even though he's huge! He can sit still for maybe two seconds before needing to run off and check out that leaf, insect, bush....

My twin sister She's my best friend and makes me laugh and feel good about myself like no one else can.

Cadbury Creme Eggs - in fact I'm about to have one right now.

Beautiful classical music - particularly Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A or Handel's Water Music.

The sun coming out after grey, grey, grey days.

Now I want a Cadbury Creme Egg. Could we have a rule nobody mentions Cadbury in this forum?

Coming home from work to my dog's crazy wagging and vivacious "happy dance."

Finding my goofy cat napping in the bathroom sink.

Preparing to make lasagne and my husband sheepishly offering to go to the store to replace the cottage cheese he couldn't keep his hands off of.

Enjoying the harvest moon on a clear night.

Going for a bike ride on a beautiful spring day - with no wind!
