If by another country you mean Australia, when do I leave? (and how long does my dog have to stay in quarantine?)

M-the upside is you're an educated individual, are able to utilize your brain and will most likely end up with some really cool science-like position in another country.![]()

Umm..you could end up here but I meant it in future tense...Yes, your doggie would have to be in quarantine but no idea how long for. You can check out the AQIS site-www.daff.gov.au/aqis
If you really want to venture down here for work...www.seek.com.au
What's (are) your degree(s) in?
Oh I'm sorry to read about this MartianDestiny. It sucks.
I did mean that it didn't mean anything about your ability as a scientist.
I sure hope you find an alternative, but keep in mind that it's not also an option to complete your master's now, work for a couple of years and then move onto the PhD, perhaps somewhere else.
All the best - and good luck.
Yea, I figured you meant that it didn't mean anything in regards to my abilities, and I know it doesn't.
Actually all of the reviews were "good", "excellent", "exceptional", etc. Can't fault my science; just bad darn luck! (makes me wonder how much I want this career over something with say...a salary!)
Sorry it didn't work out. I know from friends that you are in a very competitive field. Actually, it seems like any field in academia/research is a pretty tough existence these days.
I know you'll land on your feet! At least you have a few months to work out your next short-term plan.
Well, finally heard back from the second grant and I'm officially unemployed starting August 5th... (well, still haven't gotten the official rejection letter but I'm not among the posted recipients)
O, joy! Guess I'll try to get a TA, but really not sure where to go from here. *sigh*
