Cat help needed

my cat has this... the legs of the tree are wrapped in twine/rope which he uses alot scratching..

I suppose if I truly loved my kitties, I'd remove the chair that's in front of the picture window in the livingroom and replace it with that. Thanks Hammertime. Don't give my cats any ideas.

All I can say is I'm thrilled that the chair is sick and the cat is healthy, and not the other way around!
