Both, really. Nausea, no appetite (and it's not hyponatremia either, which gives me those symptoms, because I'm really careful about replacing electrolytes during my long runs, and it's gone within 24 hours, unlike hyponatremia which will linger exactly as long as it takes me to figure it out and slam a few liters of sports drink ).

Bowel contents are usually minimal - I usually get pretty gassy, though not always (thinking back, it seems that that's related to the fructose content of my fuel, and one of the reasons I do best with Hammer Gel. Today I mixed it with honey, silly me). No significant pain or cramping, and no diarrhea. TMI yet? But I always get the nausea and loss of appetite and a bit of roiling intestines when I'm up over 18 miles or so. Only after, never during.
