I went out on Friday for a ride on the bike trail. This is the first ride since I got my computer working again (lots of magnet and sensor-fiddling involved). The stats (I'm a scientist. I like numbers):
Total mileage: 23.9 mi.
Average speed: 13.7 mph, but that's including stops--there are lots of spots where the trail crosses busy roads. It was probably closer to 15 in terms of actual speed. That's a significant improvement for me from the last time I rode with a computer--attached to BF's dad's bike; he was riding behind me.
I also passed the 20mph speed limit! Admittedly, not for long--the bike starts feeling a little unstable above 17.5, I found. But the feeling of that kind of speed is great.
I was a little sore immediately after getting off the bike to walk it across some rather nasty railroad tracks, but other than that, nothing. I think I need to up my mileage next time.
I also needed this ride as a morale booster--I fell twice during my last ride due to ice/refrozen snow. Ick.
I'd have done more, but I was punching a clock--good thing too, as there was a very large thunderstorm rolling in.
