    This sounds like the kind of thing that happens in DC. I'm glad the cyclist wasn't seriously hurt.

    You know what I think is really crazy about that? The spokesperson for the transportation agency was trying to make it sound like it was all o.k. because the driver hit the bicycle, not the cyclist, so it was o.k. to keep going. Geez! If they had hit a car, would they differentiate between the physical car and the driver inside? In that case, car drivers are almost never hit by other cars (or buses for that matter). If the driver hit a parked and empty car, would he/she have stopped? Or just brushed it aside since they didn't hit a person?
