I thought yesterday was a great day to ride but today proved to be even better! Woke to cloudy gray skies but by early afternoon the sun was out in force and the temperature was climbing. It was absolutely prefect - low 60s, little wind and lots of blue skies and sunshine. I rode 31 miles today and had a wonderful time out on the roads. The fields are still snow covered but it (the snow) is quickly disappearing. Livestock was out in force today enjoying the warmth and exposed pastures. Sadly, this nice weather is coming to an end and colder, wetter weather is moving in for the week. This weekend was a tease but gives one something to look forward to in the coming weeks. Spring is just around the corner and soon the trainer will be tucked away until next winter!

Oh, this could be my ride report for today (except instead of low 60s, we had high 30s)!

Yesterday, we rode through sleet/freezing rain/slush. It was gross, wet and cold. Today, the weather cooperated, so with some cold weather gear on, we headed out on the roads past snow-covered fields. It was delightful to be on the road again, and not on the dreadful trainer . . . but tomorrow it is going to snow (in fact, I think it's snowing right now).

I think that one of the best things about getting out on the road again this weekend, was feeling the thrill of the bike diving through corners. I thought my handling skills might be a bit rusty, and while there is always room for improvement, I definitely experienced the feeling of "it's just like riding a bike" - it all comes back pretty quick, without giving it much thought.

It was absolutely freakin' gorgeous here today. I went for an early morning ride with a friend, before it warmed up though, so it was a bit chilly at times, but still sunny and beautiful. We only did 22 miles, but they were hilly, in preparation for Chilly Hilly up on Bainbridge Island next weekend. We went up through Washington Park, up to Skyline, down a bit then wended our way up in the SW Hills, and then up to the top of Council Crest. It was crystal clear up there, and we could actually see Mt. Rainier behind Mt. Saint Helens, which is pretty rare, plus Mt. Adams, and Mt. Hood.



We came down and decided to do Council Crest again, a different way up this time, which turned out to be the harder way to go up. But I'm trying a new mantra of "Hills are fun!" and it seems to be working. I'm getting stronger and stronger on the hills, and they *are* starting to be fun! Finally

Then we came back to the 'hood and got coffee and egg+sausage croissants at the neighborhood bakery. A very nice morning ride to be sure.

Oh my goodness that makes me miss the pacific northwest So beautiful there.

Same as yesterday. Only 20 kms. even though it was sunny that started off with near freezing temp. but went up abit. Then joined up dearie at the market, who still couldn't ride because of his recent bike accident with another cyclist.

Already there were people parking their cars along residential streets before 9:00 am for an Olympic venue and tons of volunteers walking their way to work at various locations.

I really should do more distance but it is nicer to relax at some of the normal public areas before serious build-up of crowds later on in morning and onward.

There is a different, positive vibe during this time in the city in the downtown core which will probably be never replicated on this scale again. And I confess, I just want to enjoy it... rather than run away for many hrs. on bike.

We finally had some warm sunshine this weekend and I was stoked for a nice long ride. Unfortunately it was a bit windy so I ended up only doing 24 miles but I was fairly happy. My massage guy has been really getting into my injury area so the groin area has been rather sore. I am really feeling a less than smooth road. I am getting spoiled by the smooth road in spin class... LOL

It was a gorgeous day in our part of Florida. I rode 100.3 to complete my second century ride ever. It was a beautiful ride with great friends for company. Life doesn't get any better.
