7, I heard Vail's getting snow... Have fun out there.
I drove down to NC on Friday to have my race snowed out on Saturday. It melted by afternoon, so I went for a ride, which was nice. Sunday's race ended early with pothole-induced mechanical problems. Oh well.
I also wanted to cry when I went to buy groceries today and it started snowing again. Even though it wasn't sticking.
Some of my snow melted and there are CROCUSES BLOOMING! There is hope!
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

The bike is ok. The hoods just slid down the bars from the impact, which caused my brakes to close. I wound up yanking them back in place enough that i could get rolling, but they were loose and low from the hit, so I stopped after I finished that lap to grab some tools. I had just put more carbon paste under the hood clamps last week when I changed the bar tape. At least the front wheel is ok and the bars didn't do something funny at the stem clamp. I am also glad the hoods moved and my injured shoulder didn't take the brunt of the impact. Plus, there was a nasty crash on the final lap of the race, so it was a good time to not be in it. Still, I missed out on scoring points for my collegiate team.
We're heading there Thursday!
It's been snowing daily. Not a lot...but enough to make it lovely and the skiing awesome. This morning at Keystone, there were light flurries and it was sunny. The snow in the air and the new snow on the trail were glistening in the sunlight like diamonds. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen here.
(no pix however, cuz it was also danged cold and the mittens stayed on and the camera stayed mostly in my pocket!)
