Party Pardee has the best rollers ever. Totally a momentum ride. Pick a cog in back and then just switch chain rings and use your mo'.

This is definitely a ride that separates those who know how to shift from those who don't.

Thanks Sadie Kate! I've never done it and wanted an idea of what to expect... I'll practice the momentum thing!

I did this ride last year and really enjoyed it! Not gonna be able to do it this year, but it's on my list for next year. I think the route is just great...lots of scenery and lots of variety. They had good food too (always very important).

The first half or so is a piece of cake. Then there are a couple of really good hills when you climb up to New Hogan Reservior (I think that's the name of it) and after you go over the dam at Pardee. I found these to be pretty challenging, but I had less than 300 miles under my belt for the season and I hadn't ridden at all in December, January, and most of February. So my feelings about these hills might be slightly skewed

Now I'm thinking about the yummy pasta they served afterwards. Yummmm.

Dang, bummer that you aren't doing it this year... I'll let you know how it goes! Do you have any on your calendar that you're doing for sure this year?

So far I'm only signed up for the Chico Wildflower. What about you?

I hope you have weather like today's for Pardee...after my ride today I'm wishing I had signed up for it.

I'm kind of in a wait and see mode... we'll see how the Pardee goes and decide from there... although I notice there are a few local rides over the next few months that I'd like to try to do
