Right. Maidei and I finally got out today. I'm still recuperating so it was short and fairly flat. Plus it was hot! We took advantage of the conditions to go slowly and take lots of photos. The full Flickr stream is here:

    Next, Maidei's off to Christchurch!

    Great pics!
I look forward to seeing more great snaps of NZ on Maidei's world tour.

Are there really penguins in NZ?

Yese, there really are! Only a few kilometres from the centre of the city. I've never seen them, but I think they only really venture over the road at night. Iknow there was a big fuss last year when one got run over. I just love that sign - it makes me smile every time I see it!

Cool photos Pip! Nice to hear you're feeling much better as well

There are penguins on the North Island-(saw some really cute fairy penguins on Titiri Maitangi) & South.

Lookin' forward to more Maidie adventures, kiwigirl. Must be good weather there?
Seems like Maidie has travelled ...about at least 8,000 kms. (or more) after being schlepped from Perth, Australia at CC's place and onward.

Where is Maidie going after cruising about NZ?

She's going up to Auckland next - then I imagine she will be on her way further afield.

Kiwi girl - I'll pm you with a new address to send her too I'm in the middle of moving

So i'm leaving for Hawaii - Honolulu on 9th March, shall I take Madei with me or should I send her on to someone in southern California to start her USA trip in the meantime rather than wait ?

I'm not able to get on too often at the moment
