Welcome! My DH also got me hooked! I think that must be quite common, as it's kind of a male dominated sport (at least around here )

I just got my first bike which is a flat bar road bike. When I first started I actually rode my son's bike for a bit, it was an MTB, and I was kind a being pushed into getting an MTB for myself, but I resisted as I couldn't see myself really getting into MTBing. I'm really glad I got more of a road bike as this is more my scene.

So I guess what I'm saying, is get what YOU want!!!
