Chiming in. I'm a certified nurse-midwife. My concern is not so much the baby, per se, as it's true that the baby is well cushioned. My concern is the placenta. A blow to the belly or back can partially dislodge the placenta from the uterus (placental abruption). The placenta is the way the baby gets all of its nutrients and oxygen. A placental abruption causes blood loss for both mom and baby, and can be very dangerous for both. LiseOriginally Posted by KSH
