When I plug in the Garmin to my computer, GTC automatically takes up the information...haven't figured out how to NOT get it to do that. Then, I click file, export and you have to tell them which date activity to export.
A box will open to save this file, with the file already saved in the "file name" box. Click on the right where it says "save".
Open SportTracks and on your activity page, on the bottom left, select Import. A box will open and you need to click on the file icon and browse to the location of the exported (from GTC) file. Mine came right up! Click on the date of the activity and click "next" at the bottom. THen click on the date of the activity you have exported and click on Finish at the bottom. It then imports the activity to SportTracks.
I know that you wanted to know how to bypass the Garmin, but I am not sure if short of deleting the GTC that you can go straight to ST. I keep GTC because that is where I can update the firmware on the Garmin Edge, and where I can update the GTC software itself. I really don't think there is a way around this issue.
I actually use Cyclistats for my stats and like it. I paid for it but have used it (as has my husband) for the last four years. Pretty cheap for keeping the stats that I want...just the basics..mileage, speed, HR (if I wear the monitor), calories and climbing, etc.
Anyone else?
