Not me! When we went to the shelter to get Cooper, I refused to go into the dog side or I'd have come home with dog #3. Puppies are the hardest to resist, but I'm a sucker for any dog that needs a home.

Bob, what's your dog's name? (S)he's adorable all snuggled up like that. Can (s)he still walk?
Murphy is cold all the time, but with his big body and thick neck, I've never found anything that he can wear without tripping over it. I've tried lots of things, though.

I don't know what it is about him but Murphy is my favorite dog here. What a character.
    His expression says "Holy S***!"

    Funny, he's my favorite, too.
He had a tough life his first few years, and now he's spoiled and gets into trouble, even though he's really getting up there in years. Most owners would restrict him for his own good, and I should but he has so much fun I just can't. I keep looking at my avatar, when he was ~2 and my gray old man now.
I need to video him, his grunts and vocalizations are a riot, he takes so much effort to move around on those stubby legs that vocalizing seems to help. And jumping down from a chair? Like a brick falling, and then a big 'ole grunt on top of that. I have a male friend who laughs everytime Murphy moves.

Murphy sounds like a typical Murphy---short legs, thick neck, determined (stubborn?) nature!

That picture of him with the quills in his nose still makes me cringe!!

Give him a kiss from a fellow Murph!

Last comment on him, I talk about him too much....
Prior to Murphy I named him "Sargeant Shorty", but my mom said that was offensive and she'd be angry with me if I called him that. Then he was Napoleon for awhile, but friends started calling him Nappy and that makes me think of the British term for a diaper. Then he was named....
When I finally settled on Murphy, my mom asked "How can you name a German dog Murphy?!"
Murphy was the first of his many names that he clearly answered to. He used to sit and growl at humans on the TV, but he watched an entire Ellen DeGeneres stand up routine on HBO with fascination and no growls, sitting nicely and staring at her. At the end of the show, a picture of a dog was put up with a note with dates and 'dedicated to the memory of Murphy' - so I figured Murphy was his name.

I have several Ruff Wear products, great company, great line. thanks for the tip, though.

Have you tried any Ruffwear products? A few of their coat designs do not involve sleeves that could get in the way of short legs. This company is a small business that offers excellent customer service. They sent me free Bark N Boots when one of the boots wore prematurely.

Also, another suggestion is to get an infant size tee shirt or sweater and cut the sleeves off if it's too long for Murphy.
