    Like Mimi said, ouch.
I hadn't heard of women having it either. For a split second I had an identity crisis until the dr. assured me that women get them too

Oh, I've had kidney stones too. Not fun. I had the lithotripsy to break one of them up- even with morphine it felt like I was being snapped with a rubber band for an hour and a half on the same spot. The other one escaped on its own, which was also not fun.

Some contributing factors for me: living in a hot climate, not drinking enough water, being a teacher and having restricted times to get to the restroom, plus several years of commuting over an hour each way to work on a bus with no restroom, and drinking too much diet Coke. Do you know that cola nuts have a compound that helps form kidney stones? Haven't quite been able to give up diet Dr. Pepper though....

Good luck and I hope that you are able to take care of it with the minimum of discomfort.

Do you have to have an IVP test?

Yes unfortunately my sister told me it was very painful.

I hope it's less bad for Limewave.
