Here's a suggestion from my DH. Besides complaining about people running their mouths on Facebook, if you're not already a member of LAB and/or your local/national cycling advocacy organization, JOIN! I just did.

Oak, that's a great idea! I reported the 'page'. It's amazing to me that people hate an entire category of people...

Considering the history of humanity, this is amazing? Reprehensible, yes. Amazing... sadly, no.

BleeckerSt_Girl: The few photos I saw on the page appeared to be of large men and pickup trucks. I hate to stereotype because that leads to the sort of behavior Ginny refers to, but it's possible that the "semi-literate" part might still apply.

While I certainly don't like comments of the run-them-over type, I try to let them just pass as expressions of annoyance and nothing more. We've all fantasised at some point about doing something mean or vicious (surely it's not only me... ) to people we really dislike or in situations that we hate. And when talking with people who agree with us it's not that unusual to voice those fantasies either.

I did get pretty scared though when I read a blog with a girl bragging about how she had intentionally run into a cyclist a while ago, to teach him a lesson. There are a few people who will purposely endanger cyclists, but I'm pretty sure not by far as many as those who want to talk about doing so.

Reported it a week ago because Blackbottoms cycling wear "tweeted" this as a hate group. I clicked on the link and reported them as promoting violence towards cyclists. Hopefully Facebook takes action. Thanks to all the vigilant protectors everywhere.

Nah, it's just all the beef hormones and cigarettes that made them bigger and older looking than normal teens.

While I passionately disagree with the overall opinion of that group, I have also learned that even idiots and complete morons are entitled to their completely assinine opinion(s).
I agree that good old boy ***-a-holes are welcome to express their opinion in this here U S of A--god bless the first amendment!--but I take issue with their violent vibe (look at the group's photo of the cyclist being "doored" and what they are "about": "My car is hard, and i am not slowing down!")

Facebook apparently agrees with you, as they are still going strong (over 1000 more new members since OP posted it). I say we all join and sabotage! Check out their info page--it appears folks are doing exactly that.

A few years ago in Fort Collins, there was a rash of 'doorings' until a cyclist got seriously hurt... then is all quietly stopped. It seems to me that as long as a cyclist is an 'image' (perhaps a 'dork' in spandex or some other irritating 'symbol') that some types find it fun to harass and hurt us. When it becomes clear (i.e someone ends up in the hospital) that the 'symbol' is human just like the those who are taunting, the bullies wake up and go harass a different group for a while.

Don't think that this "fan page" is just simple venting. Don't think FB doesn't influence people to violence. We had several kids beat up at a local middle school a few weeks ago on "National Kick a Ginger Day." And FB isn't just populated by middle schoolers with nothing better to do. It's mostly adults.

I joined and was going to post the quote in my signature, but then decided it probably wasn't worth it after all.

OK, I'll admit that I have a Facebook account, but I know zero about how to navigate and "use" Facebook. I've been looking everywhere for a "report" button and can't find it. How do I report?
