Ah, epidurals are not new. They are just in fashion now. When I had my kids (ages 24 and 27) they were used for c sections, mostly. I don't know anyone who had one for a vaginal birth. A few I knew had some type of IV drugs, but mostly everyone had no drugs. Yes, that was real pain, but I can hardly remember it.

Isn't that true??? The memory of it melts away the minute you hold that baby in your arms.

Staying out of the debate. My motto is "You're stronger than you think you are". I keep finding that I can usually go further, faster and harder than I think I can .... or than I think I can reasonably tolerate. I tend to really "ease" into things. Baby myself. But my friend pushes me to do more than I really want to and, often times, I'm glad she did.
