Count me in......right now I'm around 175 and I'd like to be at 140 (by the end of 2010) I think realistically I'd like to be at or around 165 by the end of February. I hope I'll have better luck doing this as a group effort with all of you motivated ladies!

Does the weight loss journey ever end?

I wish everyone success in reaching their goals!

I weigh 158 and would like to be at least 150 by the end of February. I weighed 177.6 on October 1 so am happy with my progress so far. I would like to get down to 130-135 in 2010...

Serottarider...as to your question " Does the weight loss journey ever end?"

No, I don't think it ever does! At least not for me. I take a few months and think "I'll live w/ it, this must be where my body wants to settle (weight-wise)" but then I just get all out of sorts in how I feel and clothes fit and decided...IT IS TIME. But always a constant work/struggle for me.

Here's to losing weight in 2010!

Cat, we can keep pushing each other. I am right at 158 too and would LOVE to get down to 130-135 in 2010. Think we can do it? I get as far as 140 and then put it all back on Think about how fast we can climb when we get down to 130!!! WhoooHoooo!!!

You've already lost 20 pounds since October? That's wonderful!!!! Good work.

Kat, I hear you. I kept thinking the weight would come off on it's own as long as I stayed active and that's not the case. It's hard to be taken seriously as a cyclist/runner/swimmer when you are 20 pounds overweight--besides being so unhealthy.

Bike Chick, we can certainly keep pushing each other I am just hoping that I don't reach another plateau until I am at least down to 150, that last one was just frustrating.

Back when I did Taekwondo I couldn't understand why I couldn't get below 162 - and martial art workouts are intense.... I went to class/practiced 5 times a week. Now I understand why I couldn't lose weight - I wasn't eating enough calories, often enough, or the right things - the triple whammy.

This time I am paying far more attention to what/how I eat - but of course with early diabetes I've no choice (well, no other choice that I like). Pity it took diabetes to get my attention Thankfully I am greatly enjoying my personal training sessions and working out - and now I have that lovely bicycle sitting in my apartment's living room encouraging me to keep at it!

I'm in too. I'll weigh in on Friday and I'm starting the year with a cleanse. I'm sure I'm somewhere around 160 and I'd like to be at 140 by July 31st - my 25th class reunion.

If I can get back to 130 by the end of the year I will be a happy woman!

Starting weight is the same as beginnng of last challenge. 184. Not sure how I didn't gain over the past week, eating too much junk and not exercising but I am ready to start again.

Goal for the end of February is 174.

Diagnosed with diabetes??? Oh how awful! That's what I'm trying to avoid. My mother has it and I'm doomed if I don't get this weight off! Today is the day!

Today's Weight: 157.5 (how did that happen?)
    Goal for this Challenge: 149
    Ultimate Goal: 135

Here is the file. One of the links should work without having to sign in to google. I left all the names from last time on there. I'll clean it up in another week; this gives people time to decide if they want to join in and keeps me from having to retype any previous names.

Official starting weight as of 1/1/2010: 156.3
My goal for the end of February is now 148.3
Ultimate goal by mid-spring is 130 - then we will see

Bike Chick - the diabetes is early enough that it can be controlled without medication - and I am doing all in my power to keep it that way

I won't say how long it has been since I've seen 156, let along 130

    jan/feb weight loss

I put on some weight over the holidays and am determined to get it off again asap and keep it off as the weather improves and I can ride more.

weighing in at 145 and aiming at 140 by the end of Feb.

It is a small goal but that's how I best manage it. It has worked for the last 90 pounds so hopefully it will continue to work in 2010,

    marni

I started 2009 at 150 pounds and lost 30 pounds since January (which I did not think was going to be possible)
Starting cycling in July deserves credit for helping me lose the last 17 - it came out to about 100 miles per pound.

I think everyone who is joining this challenge deserves a big round of applause for setting a goal for the new year, and I hope all of you are able to feel more healthy and fit, which is probably the best reward of all.

My starting weight for 2010 is 120.0
My goal for this challenge is 115. (I like what Marni said about small goals)
I hope to reach my final goal of 110 by April, which should be about right for my height- which is 5'1"
