Ironically, in the South, that's become a derogatory phrase. No one seeking to be taken seriously would use it.

What Mr. S said... Down here in Dixie, any speech that starts off with "You people..." means somebody's getting their butts chewed out six ways from Sunday.

But then again, starting off with "Y'all..." has a much nicer impact ;-)

Well this is a funny thread, don't know why it tickled my funny bone. The topper was seeing the poster "PscyclePath" that made me LOL!

    Cool name!

That happened to me once with a cop, and I GOT THE TICKET!!! My friends had run the light, and quickly passed through her little 'zone' or whatever, but BECAUSE I stopped for the light it left me behind and I was the one she got.

She absolutely swore I had done it, but... ummm.... duh... if I had run the light with them I wouldn't be a mile behind everyone else now would I??? She made a couple statements that pretty much made me part of the group, regardless of what my individual actions were.

Lesson learned: Run the red lights with everyone else or the cops will get you

But seriously, WHY on Earth do people feel the need to group us together all the time?
