Eldon wrote to Johan to say, dude, I should be on your team.

Today (12/4/09) Johan is offering him a chance to join them at training camp, with conditions.

Looks like Johan put up a new goal... $50k to each charity and they donate a trip to see the 2010 TdF finish. http://www.johanbruyneel.com/blog.html

I hadn't heard of World Bicycle Relief before this, but was glad to toss $50 into the hat. I don't really have any interest in winning a bike or in the big picture care about sending Fatty to camp, but it's cool to see someone who has gone through so much get an opportunity to do something he's dreamed about while donating to good people. Why not do two good things at once?

Snobby put in a plug for Fatty: http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com/2009...ack-20-up.html

I'm so proud of Snobby for all the stuff he's done for Fat Cyclist. I just wanna give him a big ol' teary-eyed kiss for being such a sweet fellow. Beneath that thin veneer of sarcasm is a layer of... well, a thick layer of cynicism, but beneath THAT is the sweet Snobby we know and love!

That's pretty cool... and raising money for good causes. DH and I are planning to donate something.

And here I am sitting in Tucson- I probably won't even catch a glimpse of the team training. I heard they were at Saguaro N. Park yesterday, riding the "loop"- one of my regular rides....I'm guessing they probably ride it a little faster than me ...

the $50k goal for World Bicycle Relief has already been surpassed, and the Livestrong one is close!

I wonder if they'll make another goal... there are still a couple days left 'til Friday!
