Hey, it's been a while. We've been doing great but very busy with life. Kit is doing wonderful in college (Mimi, she finally gets math and almost likes it now!) and working part time at the hospital. I've had tons of OT for months (like 3-4 double shifts a week) but now we've hired more people so it's finally getting better. Kit finally got some financial aide so today she got a nice big refund for this past term we already paid for. The smile on her face lights up the room. Especially since it's her birthday. What a nice present.
I'm taking her out for breakfast at our favorite diner, a snowy day at the Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood then a soak in a hot tub, a couple's massage and dinner afterwards at McMenamins Edgefield. She's really been missing snow and the woods lately and has really needed a good massage for a while now. I hope she has a good day.
What do y'all do to keep the cats away from the spinning wheel when you're on the trainer? We've adopted yet another kitty, found him by the dumpster one night. That in itself is a story and a half. I named him Bodhi. Ito'san and him are good buddies. Tiny Harley Quinn smacks him down when he gets wild.Anyway, he feels the need to be a part of everything I do.
I'm worried for when I put the roadbike on the trainer in the next few weeks. All ideas are welcome.
I've tried to catch up the best I can on this thread. Many things have happened to us but it's just too much to talk about all in one shot. The main thing is, we are loving life and enjoying each other's company more and more as time goes on. I feel very lucky. I wish the same for the rest of you. I'll check back in more often and say hi. See y'all later and be safe.![]()

"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
Hi X! I've thought about you and Kit a few times, wondered how you were doing. Glad to see you're both happy and well!
What she said.
You really should come around more often.

That reminded me of this:

I didn't know strawberries were a "girl thing"
I liked this too:
"Harassed by hand cream hawkers at the malls? Steph has had enough. She writes: "A trip to a shopping mall also includes having to run the gauntlet of people chasing you to try their hand creams. I usually walk out of my way at Manukau shopping centre to avoid them, but discovered on Saturday that my escape route now includes people selling face cream. How do they suppose somebody carrying shopping bags in each hand is able to try these things? "No thank you" means that, not please chase me through the mall telling me that "it will only take a minute". Is anybody else driven to despair by this or am I just in need of a holiday?"
Add the stinky microwave heating pad people to the list too "Please don't come near me with that thing, it makes me sneeze" seems to work.![]()
