specialized jett vs. brooks

I have a 2nd hand Jett that replaced the original saddle that came on my Fuji bike, a very nice hand-me-down from a more serious rider who bought a new one. I am used to it now and it has worked for me so far, on rides up to 50 miles.

What kind of Brooks do people like to put on their mixtes?

I like the B66/67/68 dimensions. I have the B67 on 2 of my bikes (that's the single rail one with springs) and a B68 (single rail, no springs) on the bike I ride the least, which is a very upright promenade bike. It got the B68 because I really really like springs to be on my commuter and my zoom-zoom so I spend most of my time with a sprung butt.

B66/67/68 are the widest and most T-shaped of the Brooks saddles.

Brooks choice just depends on your sit bone width and the angle of the action of your hip joints. (oh, and whether or not you like springs! )

that saddle was broken in before I bought it and i've owned it for 15 or so years.
it's a b66, kind of heavy...you can get the same shape and comfort with a B68 now only this newer model is not so heavy.

i might just make the brooks jump, we'll seeee. the only people i know that ride the jett, are the store employees, while all my friends swear by brooks.. and i know that i can get a brooks cheaper. so, I'll probably go with the B17s.

i'm tempted by the imperial, but i havent really heard too much about it?

The only problem with the "S" versions of the various saddles is that the nose is "short." If you control your bike with your thighs, you will REALLY miss the regular length nose. The "Short" saddles also have less fore-aft adjustment because the rails are shorter.

i was worried about that too, but my TT is only 50 cm so its already in the short area, and i asked a couple friends about which they rode, and ALL of them ride the S version. and all are much bigger than i am, so i figure i'll probably be okay with it.

I found the B17 to be too narrow and uncomfortable after 50-60 miles.
have you measured your sit bones?
