There is one called Scoggins Valley in September that follows the Hagg Lake course if you'd rather do it later in the year.

That one is right in my backyard (literally), so I'm tempted. I'm also tempted by the Black Hills one...but of course, I have to get my first sprint under my belt first.

Hey, GLC, what's the May sprint you're doing? I would like to get a sprint in in May so that I can then try my first Oly at Blue Lake June 6.

but it looks like its already full! I don't know how many people get in off the wait list - but you should sign up anyway. Worth a shot, right?

Oh, got it! Thanks. I think Susan Otcenas may have done this one last year.

I did Scoggin's one year. It's a good race but it is a fairly hilly course both on the bike and the run.

Yes, it is...but it's no mountain climb. No doubt it would be a challening event though! It's a gorgeous route - we bike that way all the time as it's just a 10 minute ride from my house.
