    Tim Tams!!!!!

So, after YEARS of hearing about these marvelous bits of goodness, I was visiting my BF and we walked into his local grocery store (south Florida) and there, right by the front door, was a display of Pepperidge Farm Tim Tams!!! I nearly shrieked with delight. Okay, I DID shriek with delight! Could they be the real deal? It seems they are, on special license from Australia. I tried to explain to DBF that these weren't just any cookie, but on TE, they were the cookie all cookies strive to be.

We bought one original Chocolate Creme, and one Caramel. At room temp (warm room...) they were a bit too melty, but slightly chilled, OMG yum.

Now... why is this in the cycling thread and not the non-cycling? We spent the long holiday week riding. Yesterday was the last of 9 days of pretty brisk riding. They don't have hills down there, but they do have headwinds. I took the pull on the last long leg into the wind and made a deal with myself. If I could keep up a certain pace for half that leg, I would get a TimTam as soon as we walked in the door. If I could keep it up for the whole leg, two Tim Tams. My BF tried to pull the last half, but that would void the deal in my head. As I'm pushing, giving it all I had, the cadence in my head was saying "tim, tam, tim, tam..." over and over.

Needless to say, I got my two Tim Tams as soon as we got home.

Pedalwench, are you originally from Aus? Or did you get to try the Tim Tams on a trip there?

We have ALL VARIETIES of Tim Tams here!! Black Forest, Double Dipped, they even released a strawberry (or maybe raspberry) variety in a pink pack for Breast Cancer fundraising. But I still think the original are the best. Soooo addictive!

Hmmm, now that's a great idea - a Tim Tam reward system for riding. Might give that some more thought.....

No - never been down under and never tried them before ... but everyone here has raved so much about Tim Tams that I was about to hop a plane to try one personally!

    Funny you should mention this.

A coworker went to Australia and returned a couple of days ago, with a backpack full of Tim Tams.

Since I clued her in about them last year, before she went there the first time (she's now addicted, heh heh), I got first dibs on the stash.

I'm kind of a purist so I went for the Classic Dark Chocolate.

    WOW!!
We recently had a world market (still cost plus to me) open at the bottom of our hill. I knew there were tim tams residing there (or arnotts or something??) but I have been resisting... till... sunday morning!!
    But I can't eat them!
It's a good thing, diet has taken me from sugar, and now things like that make me want to hurl.
    But that is sad..
    I LOVE tim tams...
Watched running son do a tim tam slam tonight... my beloveds.. I will enjoy you again one day, when I can tolerate sugar...

Hey PW! I saw them at a Kroger in ATL, Brookhaven neighborhood, so they are around. I resisted buying them because I'm surrounded with holiday temptations at the moment. I've heard such great things about them that I'll have to succumb and give them a try eventually.

Yes, I've seen them regularly at World Market/Cost Plus.

It's probably heretical, but I'm not a big fan. Yawl can have my quota.

Oh you evil woman --- you mean, at the store RIGHT UP THE STREET FROM ME???? Hmmm... if I walk there, that burns enough calories to eat... one half of one!

*I'm weak. I will be going there today. To resist is futile.*
