No worries, folks check in when they can. Sometimes I forget, sometimes I wish I would forget.

140 this week - not good.

Food is good, but I need to exercise more.

This is the time of year that it is starting to get too cold to bike, but not cold enough to ski.

    Bummer!!

168.0. I weigh myself every day. I know I shouldn't but I do and I'm not going to stop but this week I have weighed everything from 172-165 what is up with that? Does anyone else bounce around that much? or should I just chalk it up to hormones and be ready with my "it was Thanksgiving" excuse for next week.

I was going to post a couple of ideas /recipes for a less diasastrous Thanksgiving- maybe this should go into the nutrition thread? Anyway- here they are:

    1. Serve pumpkin pudding instead of pumpkin pie:

Make the pie filling following your favorite recipe, and bake it without a crust.
Even better, use nonfat evaporated milk. If you're really serious, swap out the sugar in the recipe for a sugar substitute.
Use cool whip or a light whipped cream

2 . Skip the candied sweet potatoes with marshmallows- this is a little lighter:

Microwave 3-4 med-large sweet potatoes, then mash them and stir in
    3/4 cup plain yogurt

Peel and cut into chunks or slices: One tart green apple. Arrange pieces on the bottom of baking or casserole dish.

Mix 2 Tablespoons brown sugar with enough brandy or whiskey to "melt" the brown sugar. Mix in about 1/2 cup pecan pieces or halves. Soak for 15 minutes.

Spoon or pour the sweet potato & yogurt mixture over the apples, then spread the brown-sugar / pecan mixture over the top.

Cover and bake in an oven or heat in a microwave

    3. Instead of the really high cal green bean casserole,

Steam or microwave green beans. Add a few lightly sauteed mushrooms or onions, and top with a sprinkling of almonds for crunch

    4. Cranberry juice spritzers, dilute about with about half sparkling water.

Those are a few things we do. Anyone else?

Sorry I'm a bit late reporting. Weighed in at 212.6 this week. No improvement but not surprising having been out of the gym for the week with a bad cold. On the mend now and itching to get back in shape.

154.5 - what a gain ! I don't do anything different though - only expecting menstruation soon. I guess that might explain the gain.

Still hanging in there: 231.4 this morning.

Lots of traveling the last couple of weeks, sad stuff going on, but I'm hanging in there.

I didn't even over-indulge yesterday, but I think I'm still going to avoid the scale today.
