Hi Amanda,
Welcome- I'm a little less than newbie now (started with 5-6 mile jaunts in June and have worked my way up over 40 miles)- but really appreciate all the helpful people on this board. I hope you love your new bike.

Hi everyone,
After hanging out for awhile and “eavesdropping” on all of your great advice and information, I’ve finally joined TE. Hello!
A little about me: I live in the SF Bay Area (South Bay part), and I am a complete newbie to the cycling world. I haven’t been on a bike since I was a kid, probably close to 20 years ago (wow, that’s a terrifying thought). But this is something I’ve wanted to do for a number of years, so I finally took the plunge and ordered my bike. Due to being challenged (fiscally and vertically), I decided on a Trek 7.3FX, and it should be here any day. I have no idea where or when or how often I’m going to ride yet, but I’m super excited. I feel like a kid again
I’m a little nervous about this new adventure, but the friendliness of this forum has been very encouraging. I look forward to learning from everyone here!
cheers,
Amanda

Welcome Amanda!
I've been here about a month. Learned so much from this group! When you get your new bike, be sure to share some pics - and thoughts on your first few rides!

Hello Amanda
I am new as well, joined about one week ago. Even though I'm new to TE, I want to take part in the "welcoming crew"! I have been overwhelmed by the affirmation of so many other members. You'll love visiting here. I know that you can hardly wait for your new trek to arrive! I got my bike 8 days ago. I had not been on a bicycle for nearly 30 years!! Today, I rode 8 1/2 miles with my husband. I'll be watching for your report on the bike. Isn't it fun to feel like a kid again? Best wishes and welcome!

Amanda!
Hi and welcome! Hope to see you around!
Jennifer
Welcome, Amanda! You will enjoy it here and will enjoy your new Trek. Be sure to post pictures when you get it. We love pictures on here!

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! It's taken me this long to reply to your great notes because I was out picking up my bike todayThen, of course, I had to spend a ton of time just admiring it. I'll take some pics tomorrow to share.
Actually, it was your thread, Caprice, about fitting in here that finally gave me the courage to join. I knew that it was a great forum with welcoming people, but I was still nervous about becoming an official member. I know so little and initially intend on just being a recreational rider (with vast ambitions), so I wasn't sure where I fit either. The responses to your thread were so heartwarming and encouraging, though, I thought to myself, "I want to be part of that group."Hello Amanda

Welcome! Can't wait to see pictures of your bike.
I came here looking at saddle reviews and stayed for the ride. It's a great place. Welcome.
