What were you thinking?!!! I knew something was wrong last evening on the commute home when I arrived at 2 intersections and traffic was chaotic. I kept thinking, "I am sooo glad that I am on my bike and not in a car." I saw the reports last night on the local news. What a mess! I bet you could have gotten out of your car this morning, walked to metro and you would have beat Tom there.

The entire county is in chaos mode, as the computer that controls the traffic lights is on the fritz. The lights work, but are not synchronized to control traffic in-bound to the city. Result = crazy gridlock and insane traffic.

My car commute in yesterday was slow, but it wasn't obvious to me that there was a problem and I wasn't listening to the radio. When it came time to head home and I knew what was going on I wished I was on my bike, but that would only have help me if I was willing to pretty much do all of it on the sidewalks.

Since the system still isn't fixed, I'm working from home today.

Smart move to stay home. There were so many angry motorists out there last night so no need to be back out with them today.

Don't think THAT thought didn't cross my mind (multiple times) as we sat in traffic!

Did you call Tom to see if he made it home yet?

Home safe and sound. Traffic heading east was very light. It was all gummed up heading west.

Great weather the last few days. Can't believe it's this beautiful in November (but it was freezing in October so our months are just backward). Here are a couple pictures. The first is of a quiet street on my commute taken yesterday, next is a rose I found especially beautiful on the way to work, and the last is me in my library leaving school today.

Hee hee- my fenders on my bike are homemade out of an old tire, a wire hanger, some electrical tape and black duct tape. I just couldn't justify spending $80 on fenders right now- so I made some for free.

Great photo of you Tri Girl! You must have Curious George and his bicycle book somewhere in that library. Maybe you have inspired a few readers to cycle to their library.
