We have a Computrainer. Sometimes I use it with the program that lets you ride on a "course", but I've found I prefer to watch DVDs. The trainer is great (and can be used in a stand-alone mode without hooking it up to a PC) and the customer service is good too. Of course it helps that the company is about 4 miles from my house... so when I broke the cadence sensor I could just go down there and pick up a new one.

The computer program allows you to use a course and collect a lot of data, but the trainer doesn't need them- it has a handlebar mount control unit that allows you to train using power without using a computer.

I've come across the Elite brand but not Computrainer. I'll do a search on that.
