IFJane: That's what I think happened with this guy in the white ute. I think he started out intending to 'teach cyclists a lesson" then he obviously took it too far and now he's hiding out somewhere in Auckland hopefully freaking out. The police have a list of vehicles matching the description and are slowly making their way through it. They'll catch him eventually.

In the meantime I went out with my usual pack on Saturday and found everyone to be a lot more polite than usual. Perhaps all the publicity here in NZ around car v cyclists is giving a few drivers food for thought.
