My partner had two purebred Himalayans. One day her husband whisked them off to a vet and had them declawed. My partner found out about it after the fact. Anyway, the cats refused and never used a litter box after being declawed. They were good before the surgery.

If Eden's comment isn't enough, please visit our rescue groups web site Purrfect Partners and click on "links to other info" there you will see several links to Declaw related information. Please take time to read them.

Really don't declaw the cat. AND ITS NOT THE SAME AS TRIMMING ONES NAIL!! There are serious complications with the surgery too.

And to lakerider, your kitten looked so happy sitting in the slightly small box. Well fed, well cared and very content sitting in or on the box. Though she has gone on, she has left you with wonderful memories of the time she was here. And through the memories, she will lives in your heart. We dearly miss our babies but do remember the wonderful life you gave her. Let that kindness in your heart comfort your own loss.

Peace be with you,
