Very wet! And I rode from work to the LBS (across town) because my front wheel is rubbing & squeaking, no matter what I've tried. I was glad of disc brakes. A truck driver went around a car that was stopped for me and almost hit me. I stopped within inches of his front wheel. In a downpour. Still, I had fun and was glad I didn't drive. I must be out of my mind.

Nonexistent. Instead of commuting I got to scramble around at home halfdressed in bike gear (shorts, tights, bra) pandering to my 12 yr. old son who may or may not have swine flu and is in bed looking sorta pleased with the whole thing, digging out our very seldom used thermometer, and subsequently removing all the bathroom furniture and chasing, sweeping and vacuuming up microscopic beads of mercury from the bathroom tiles. I fully understand that poetic term of "chasing quicksilver" now - dang, they're fast!

I better get some clothes on and go buy a new thermometer...

God bedring to your little boy, LPH!

I actually cycled to work today. Been a week since last time. Felt great, even the monster hill wasn't too bad. Then I realized it was the strong tailwind giving me a boost. Hope the wind eases or changes direction by the time I head home... But a glorious day today: blue skies, crisp air and all the leaves are turning bright colours.

thanks, uke! Yup, it's been a brilliant autumn, hasn't it. Nothing quite like biking through the glow of autumn leaves over you, around you, and on the ground.

I've had a migraine since sunday, which feels better after intense or moderate exercise, and which also kicks me in the asz and makes me not want to do anything. So this morning when D says " it's raining , you won't want to ride this morning" i was disappointed and relieved at the same time. So then he went outside and said, "hey, it's NOT raining!" so i changed into bike shoes and rode to work. Trouble is, 1 mile into the ride it started raining again, so my cotton pants started getting wet. Fortunately, my legs start to glow and 20 minutes after I got in the door, my legs are dry!
going home might not be so pleasant.

Today's commute was the first in a week. Between 4 days of rain, oversleeping Monday, and a crappy schedule yesterday, today was the first day on the bike since last Wednesday. Boy, did it feel good! Temps were in the upper 40s, so it was fairly comfortable.

This morning, DH sent me a story from the local paper: a dead man was found on our commute route! I'm a little freaked out...wondering how it happened or if he was one of the pedestrians that we sometimes see...

I'm not sure what to expect on our ride home tonight....

No ride today. I took my bike in yesterday on my way home. The front wheel was squeaking and rubbing a bunch. She spent the night at Acme Bicycles. We picked her up today after work. She seems much happier. I'll get to see if it made a difference tomorrow morning.
