Man, the instructor who shows up late - didn't show up at all today! Plenty of discontent brewing, there was a full class waiting for her. Luckily, after ten or fifteen minutes passed, there was a woman working out who was previously a spinning instructor (and a really good one) who was convinced to lead the class in her absence. Ended well, it was a great workout. I hope they do something about the unreliable instructor - if I see her name on the schedule, I am choosing another class. And I will let them know why. I am sure I won't be the only one.

Unless there was some reason that she was unable to be there (i.e., a medical emergency or sick child) that is totally unacceptable (and unprofessional). If she has been a "no show" before and has done this again, yes, she should be dealt with (and let go, IMHO). Did you find out why she was a no show? There may have been a valid reason...Just curious.

The gym has dealt with it. She does not instruct spinning anymore - the person who replaced her when she did not show up at all replaced her for good (and she is an excellent instructor).

For the girl that was replaced, I understand that she had a baby and it could very well be related to having problems organizing her time because of that. Anyone could forgive an emergency, but since she was late so often, I guess that was the straw that broke the camels back. She is a trainer and she still has clients at that gym - they have not let her go wholesale.

Glad you have a good replacement. Some jobs don't permit "tardiness". Being an instructor to instruct a group/class, is one of them.
