I wish I had my friends good fortune...

Last year, I posted about a friend who broke his titanium frame bike. He got a brand new Madone for replacement free curtesey of Trek bike. Wouldn't that be nice to have a brand new bike for nothin'....

Then about two weeks ago, he got broad sided by a Honda. Shattered his one year old Madone. The insurance company which had insured the Honda, took the full blame and got a quote for full retail of the bike. minus the 20% for the age of his bike. they've included the replacement of the pedals, the handle bar the whole works. Plus they told him that they are willing to pay him a nuisance payment (for not suing them).

His Madone is shattered into several pieces. And because they got three quotes for full retail, his gonna get a brand spanking new bike for nothin'...

Oh did I tell you, he doesn't have a scratch nor bruise on him.

I didn't even get in a wreck. Just stretching and my back goes out AND HE GETS A BRAND NEW BIKE AFTER ONE YEAR!!!

Oh then he tells me that he went out to a coffee house and he wasn't hungry so one of the girls gave him a half a sandwitch. FREE BIKE. FREE FOOD!!! GRRRRR!!!!!!!

I want his dumb luck. And times when I got seriously hurt, my bike was always fine. He gets hit, he gets a brand spanking new bike for free and not a scratch on him. I crash, I ended up doing serious sheet time for about a week in a hospital with NO MEMORY whatsoever and stuck with my same old bike.

LIFE IS JUST PEACHY FOR HIM

    Wow

Your friend is one lucky dude when it comes to the outcome of his experiences.

I have luck like yours! With my luck that I would get hit by a car and that person would have no insurance.

Here's hoping that your luck turns around for you!!

Well, goldenboy will fall from the pedestal of luck...at some point.

Are you absolutely certain, smilingcat that you haven't had dumb luck? Surely, you must have a story or 2 up your sleeve.

The ones that I can think of..that are cycling related, are all the incredible bed 'n breakfast places we stayed in Vermont ...during my lst self-loaded, bike touring trip in my life. And we only booked the lst night/place in advance. All the other 5 different other places were by chance when we rolled into the next town. And I was riding a rented Cannondale ..of which at time, I didn't understand fully how to use all the gearing.

The golden boys lucky streak continues...

He has gone to several bike shop to demo bikes. And yesterday (monday) he bought a new bike. It was '09 close out. It was demo'd maybe total of 5 hours?? so he got a really deep discount on Felt F-1. Happens to be in his size with component group he wanted and the dura ace wheels he wanted.

The insurance payout was a check to him so he gets to put mucho-$$$ into his bank account and he's got a brand new bike for peanuts. A very nice bike to boot.

    I'm jealous.
