Got out for about a 45-minute trail run/walk/workout today, mixing things up yet again. Would have stayed out longer but had to get ready to go somewhere--maybe a longer one tomorrow.

Ran 5 more miles at o'dark 30 w/ my running group. Legs felt good considering the BJJ & 6 miles from yesterday evening. My headphones stopped working 1/2 way into it, I've probably sweat too much for them to handle anymore, but it was nice to hear my feet hitting the ground quietly.
Oak- That's a bummer about not being able to get injinjis in wool. I've got a pair of the wool ones too, I actually wore that pair out, they are nice. They didn't have wool at my LRS either so I picked up the normal blend, whatever that is, today after my run just to have a few more pairs since I'm thinking they will become my primary running sock. We'll see.

I ran five tonight up on College Hill and up to Blackstone Blvd, through some lovely neighborhoods that I didn't know were there.
It took me an hour.
So I'm a turtle but I'm happy. I felt great during and after, so I am happy about that. I used one of those handheld water things I bought today. At first I hated it but by mile 3 I forgot it was there. Had the cell phone in the other hand to balance things out. It works.
I can do five more miles.
3 miles at lunch, in a residential neighborhood. Very warm, but quite nice. It's fun to see different scenery.
Last week during my trip up to CT I had ran 3 days in a row...a bit more than 3 miles each day in cool 50 degree weather (ah heaven compared to 90 degrees) on a gravel, off road, hilly trail near the water (yes, again heavenly).
Went out for run last night (back in in FL)...planned 4 miles. Keeping pace really slow just wnated to get the miles in (hot still!). About 1.5 miles in started to rain, big drops but not a lot, felt good. Then it rained more. I was running in a full out rain and loving it. It was cool. Heard thunder a bit a ways off w/ 1.5 miles still to go. Picked up pace (felt good). I knew if thunder and lightening got worse/close S.O. would come pick me up. I really hated that the lightening was happeninc cuz I was having a great run in the rain. Got 3 miles in before I jumped in the rescue vehicle. It was fun!

I have been tapering all week....very little excercise but a whole lot of energy!!!!
As intended, I did get out for a longer trail run/walk/"circuit training" today--about an hour and a half. I found a route that has lots of fallen trees to walk across, rocks to jump on and off, a stream to cross, bigger rocks to climb on, and one spot with a rock that is perfect for doing pushups and tricep dips. Lots of "monkey business" and I am glad there aren't usually too many people on the trail to see it!

Jolt - I think doing the monkey business is the best part of a run!
We had a nice century ride yesterday - I would say my best out of five centuries ridden in three years. It was a lot of fun and we kept up a good 16.5 mph pace the whole ride. That was pretty good considering the coastal headwinds both up and back.
Today I ran 7.8 miles. Vacation runs are always more fun than home runs. Nice running along the coast with the wind and the rain. I was the only one pretty much out on the roads. It took me an hour and 20 min.
Tomorrow is a rest day. My legs feel good considering how much I beat them up this weekend!
Take care,
Anj

It's finally not raining!! At long last... I did 3 soaked miles on Friday, and then Saturday morning it was raining so hard I didn't even try (plus my shoes were still damp). But today-- beautiful (but windy). So I did a very pleasant 9.25 miles, my longest run yet, and kept it just under 10 min/mile. Awesome! Yesterday's unscheduled rest day did me a lot of good-- no running and only about 4 very wet miles on the bike, going to the farmer's market. Right now, my legs feel great, but we'll see about tomorrow...
Mmm, fall marathon season!
This is my first week of running with not much else. Today, 8-9 miles easy, which is the longest I've ran in a while. It took about 90 minutes, but I was focusing on keeping my HR low and keeping things even since I am jumping in on a relatively abbreviated schedule.
Since my car accident in July, my neck/shoulder have been steadily improving. After a hard or long run, things get pretty stiff - different than the rotator cuff problems I had before, much more concentrated toward my spine. Oh well. Keep on keepin' on.
Was in Seattle Friday thru Sunday. Nice to run at sea level. Staying downtown, jogged 3 miles Saturday morning. Walked 5 miles at Public Market.
Jogged 4 days this week, might be making progress.....
