DB - A dear friend of mine has adopted two cockers from Oldies But Goodies cockers. She does one at a time, and currently has a sweet girl named, Ivy. Cocker folks are great people!

    Hi Mick,

Your little girl has some outstanding dogs on her fathers side. Her great-great-great grand father was the first golden to recieve the highest tracking degree awarded in the history of goldens. His name was Bret (Am/Can CH Golden Pine Dustrax Maverick CDX TDX RE OS CGC Can CD) and lived a long, fun filled life (just died recently at almost 14). I know his owner and met Bret many times. That was one incredible golden because he did everything. And her pedigree from the mom's side is even more impressive. BIS, BISS/AM/MEX/AMS/WC CH Sheffield-Ducat's Spellbound SDHF,OS (call name "Strider") was probably one of the most honored goldens in the last 15 years. So I know her pedigree to some degree. Lots of her grand, great grand, etc. lived long lives. By the pedigree I can tell where she gets her great color...the Aspenglo dogs are lighter. Actually, your dogs pedigree leads back to Birnam Wood which is true for many. Interesting.

Janice - Wow, thanks! Jan (the breeder) told us that Margot's longevity pedigree was "awesome." We were very lucky to find Stormy Point. Margot's coat is extremely thick and curly. If she saw her, I bet Jan would be regretting her decision not to keep Margot for show/hunter! You should see her move on the leash. She took to it like a natural....

Keep posting pics of your sweeties.

It's gonna be a three-dog night for me tonight. I just brought home Sammy, my new puppy. My vet's office manager called today and said they had an 8-month old puppy who had been seized by Animal Control because his stupid owners had left him in a tarp-covered crate in the back yard when they went away for a weekend.

Knowing that I've had 5 cockers, and spent enough to buy the veterinarian a boat or two, she called Animal Control and said I'd provide a wonderful home for him, and they said I could have him. So now I do!

Here he is--8 months old, almost 19 pounds, very sweet. Not sure what I've gotten myself into as it's been 13 years since I've had a puppy. (Sorry about the eyes--he won't slow down enough to get a better picture.)

We decided it was time to get a friend for our lovely Golden Fergus.

His new mate is called Gatsby and is a flat coated retriever.

They are getting along really well and keep us all amused with their antics. We are so happy with our new little guy.

PUPPIES, PUPPIES, PUPPIES!! Congratulations on your new babies. Sammy and Gatsby are sweetness in fur coats.

My advice---invest in plenty of bitter apple!

Please post plenty of photos so we can see them as they grow up.

Awww, Puppy Love. Puppy smell (when they're fairly clean)

Congradulations Treehawk and Divingbiker on the new additions to your families! May puppy silliness forgive puppy accidents.

Trekhawk---OMG, what a cutie! Thanks for sharing!

I still call my 2 now 1+ year olds "the kittens". It has been a great 1+year watching them grow and of course them being kittens.
And puppies are so darn cute!

    Have fun w/ him!

Our rescue adopted kitty Suki is likely around 3 years old, but we call her 'baby' because she totally acts like a kitten- rampaging and 'wilding' around the house all day just like a little kitten, sleeping with her belly up, etc. Her personality is just baby-ish, that's all.
