    Good point about not criticizing in front of her. I never even thought about that.

    Unfortunately, I know my thighs are NOT beautiful at this point (but nothing getting back on the bike won't fix! As soon as I figure out how to squeeze that back into my life.) As a whole, I am confident enough about myself to feel beautiful...but I'm not really in shape at this point in my life. I've probably gained about 30lbs in the 3 yrs since I've met my husband.

    I think he has an obsession with body image because his mother (and father) has lots of health problems related to weight issues. He equates being overweight with not caring about yourself.

    At this point, his comments about our daughter are mostly in jest (I think). As a first time dad, a lot is new to him. It doesn't help that his best friend's baby (who was born 4 weeks before ours) is like 15th percentile in weight, so our baby at 50th percentile (which I keep reminding him of) seems huge in comparison.
