    Spinning Wheel

As previously noted, the front tire is a Speedblend made by Panaracer. We got two of them at an LBS after seeing them on rivbike. I spent some time looking for them this morning, but they appear to have gone the way of the dodo. If anyone knows where one might pick up a couple more, let me know.

Now to the pics (malkin took them with her new camera). Here is the label--note that it's on the tread rather than on the sidewall so as to not mess with the cool colors.

And here's the tire with its spin on. It really does look just like that going down the street.

    Cheers!

PS Malkin's fall created a severe interruption of her riding schedule, but she didn't break any bones or mush any grey matter. She did a great job of rolling over the bars in such a way as to protect her head (palpable hit rather than a brain-scrambling smack) and take the blow on soft tissue (fabulous bruises!).
The cheap aluminum bar on the Giant was toast--bent so it wouldn't hold a bar-end and impossible to straighten without breaking. We replaced that with a Ritchey Severe Conditions bar (it can double as a weapon against grizzly bears and great white sharks). The bottom bracket replacement was incidental.
I also bought her a new helmet (Specialized Propero), which was much better received than the silly bath robe I bought her from Victoria's Secret in our early days together.

    Cheers again!
