I don't even try to pretend anymore...I have no control. They are spoiled kitties, but they do bring us a lot of joy...when they aren't breaking anything...

Here are some updated photos of my boy Toby. He's now 15 months and looking beautiful. The show picture was from 5 months ago.

    What a gorgeous GOLDEN!!!

Janice, check out my trio of goldens (www.stormyptsisters.blogspot.com). The two youngest come from an excellent breeder whose dogs show and/or are hunter cert'd. Ours are companion pets---contract requires that they be spayed, which is what we prefer.

Are you still showing that handsome boy?

Very cute. What's the breed? (King Charles Cavaliers?)

Wow, this is old. Thanks for asking about them. The one on the left was a cocker mix, the other two were cocker spaniels. Unfortunately, all have died since I posted this picture and I now have two more elderly cockers, Ruby and AJ. I recently found out that Ruby has liver cancer, but she's doing well for now. Here they are begging for treats (Ruby's wearing a t-shirt.)

Love the picture of Toby smiling.

And the second picture of Margot? She has that look of "Ok, ya busted me this time but just wait until your back is turned..."

This is my dear friend, Tigger. He's 15. He picked us out at a no-kill shelter when he was about one. This is one of his favorite activities.

Yes, still showing Toby. I brought him home at about 12 months. It's very difficult to win shows against mature goldens boys (2-3 yo). He went back into the ring a few weeks ago and won both shows he was in. I will show him until he's a Champion then will start working towards his Junior Hunter title. You're little girl is super cute. What kennel is she from? Toby is from Birnam Wood (www.birnamwood.com). Oh, and here is Hayley...all 13 years of her. She's still going strong like a 5 year old.

Janice - One golden isn't enough, eh? You're so lucky to have Hayley so long. She looks healthy and happy. We lost two goldens, Maud (11.5 yrs) and Agnes (8.5 yrs), to degenerative myelopathy and cancer, respectively.

Fiona and Margot are from www.stormypointgoldens.com. The breeder is just fantastic, does all the health testing before she breeds any of her dogs. In addition to the hunter and show titles, she has several of her "kids" certified as therapy dogs. Margot's parents are Stash and Shelby Lynne, both of whom are on the website.

Please keep us updated on your goldens' adventures. I'd love to hear more about the show "life," particularly from the Golden perspective! Best wishes to Toby in his next event.

The first three I adopted young--1.5, 3 months, and about 5ish. All three died within 2 years of each other, and I got pretty good at dealing with old, sick cocker spaniels (kidney disease and cancer), so I adopted the two current ones, who were both about 10 when I got them (both within the last two years).

I'm thinking next time I might go for one who's 7 or 8, but some sad story about an old dog will probably get to me and I'll end up with a senior again. I used to do cocker rescue so I have an "in" with them, and the adoption process is easy.
