Maybe these are easier to find?

I don't get out early enough in the morning for darkness to be a problem - but it will shortly be a problem for my evening rides.

Flexible fiber optic stick bike lights. looks like double a's. Saw a video for them when I tried to find a video of the sylvannia litesticks
Hrm. the video was double a's. the website seems to be dynamo's.
okay, you can get those fibre flare lights on ebay:

I have seen the red ones in action and they are pretty good! The lady I was cycling with at 5.30am in the morning had one on her seat stay and it was very visible but not hard on the eyes for those following.
I thought it looked like the neon lights you can install underneath cars and said to DH maybe we should get some to install under the boob tube (the horizontal tube at the bottom) of our tandem to "pimp" our ride LOL.
Edit the Sept 09 UK Cycling Plus featured these. Use AAA batteries. Prices Twin pack 56.99 pounds, single 29.99 pounds website extrauk.co.uk. Got an 8 out of 10.

I looked at the bike shop list on the fiber flare site & live close to a few so i'll pop in next week.
Stay tuned.
