Congratulations Roxy!!! I knew you could do it! Happy birthday too!

I'm confused, tho...to me DH = Dear Husband. I don't think you meant that you got married to D*H who became DH, so what am I missing...?

Well, it's sort of long and complicated and really more personal than I want to get into on a public board, but he and I have been married for 14 years and the last four or five of those have been pretty rocky.

I suffered from a severe depression for a long time because of multiple miscarriages - our 11-year-old is literally my miracle child. There's a lot more to it, mostly related, but not all. I think he went through a depression, too. We've had a really hard few years.

I've been doing better the last year or so, though, and so has he since he got a new job and made some friends outside the house (he was a consultant before, and had almost no outside interests - very isolated). Unfortunately, almost every man he works with is divorced, divorcing, or breaking up with their long-term girlfriends, except for the gay guy, who's in the happiest relationship of all of them. (The bonus here was him meeting the guys who got him into cycling, which got me into cycling.)

Anyway, after several years on this roller coaster, we're having more pockets of feeling married again in the full sense, but he's pretty much convinced that he doesn't want a long term future with me. It's hard to justify separation when neither of us has committed any of the unforgivables, we still have a lot of fun together, and we still genuinely care for each other.

I love my husband. He's just not always on board with it. Hence the asterisk.

The last couple of days, though, he's been back to Dear Husband.

Well, that's wonderful! Sorry, didn't mean to get too personal...I just thought I was being ignorant (nothing new there). Hope he stays dear...
