    I'm going to be a mother-in-law

Scott proposed to his girlfriend on the beach in Carlsbad on Monday!
I sort of knew this was coming, but it was a surprise to everyone else. I haven't even told any of my friends yet.
They are not sure what their plans are for the wedding; maybe a fall 2010 wedding in Philadelphia, where she is from, or they might just get married sooner and then have a party either here or in Phila. later. Her family does not have the $ to do anything, so he will be paying for it...
Why do I still feel like a teenager?

Even the most benign mother-in-law jokes will take on a whole new facet. But congratulations anyway!

Congratulations and best wishes to your son & his fiancee. You'll make a wonderful mother-in-law.

    Mazel Tov!

Remember - you need to think of it as gaining a daughter. My MIL had 3 boys, and was happy when I joined the clan!

That's exactly how I am thinking of it! Unfortunately, I have only met her once, and it might be never before they live near me...
But, I do share stuff with my other son's gf, so I can have "daughter-like" experiences.

That is great news! I truly feel my DIL is very special, and do love her like my own daughter. (She was the one that worked out the details so that she and my daughter could ride one-day of PMC with me this year.) I wish you all as much happiness.
