Awesome Roxy. I bet you'll do that 45 on your 45th no problem!

When it comes to food, be careful not to over do it. The right amount and types of foods will give you energy, while too much of anything will cause your body to focus its energy on digestion instead of helping you ride well. For general eating, carbs that come from fruits and veggies are best, and will help fuel you for your next ride without putting on lbs ... while right before, during and after rides, the yummy kinds of carbs that come in bread, cookies and pancakes are good. Also, after a ride recovering well so you have energy and muscle strength for your next ride is important. A combo of carbs and protein is important (protein helps heal your sore muscles). We use Recoverite and, after a long hard ride, definitely more real food to with it.

I have a piece of toast or whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter before every ride. My friend does this plus banana. Everyone is different and you'll figure out what works best for you, but when you listed all that food, I got me worried you might be over doing it. I don't even know if you ate it all. I don't think you said you did. But just something to think about.

Sounds like you are doing well. Glad you have cycling to keep you going during this difficult time.
