I have a Serfas saddle on my hybrid and am planning on getting one for my new road bike too. When I road a century and a sprint adventure on the Serfas (plus all the training rides) my butt was fine, just everything else was sore. This is the saddle that is designed for women with the cutaway in the center.

Hands down, my favorite saddle is a Serfas dual density curva. I have a black model on my Trek 5200. It has an abrasion mark on the back where it received the impact when it was on my old Trek 2100--I was washing it and it fell over (goddess, I hate when that happens!). But it continues to move my butt through space and time in comfort, through many organized and club rides and 2
MS150's. I was shopping a warehouse sale at my local bike emporium, and there in the dollar box I found the most bedraggled old red curva you ever saw. Well, it was only a dollar, so I bought it and put it atop my green Specialized hybrid for kamikaze city riding. I've put over 300 more miles on
it and it's still comfortable! The moral of the story: when you find a saddle that your butt likes, stick with it.

I finally found a saddle that is just right!I've never liked most womens' saddles 'cause they are too wide in the rear. So I've ridden a men's Selle Flite. Not too bad. I work at a bike shop and a sales rep convinced me to try a Serfas Dual Density Pro - a womens' racing saddle, ti rails, covered cut-out - and it worked the first time I rode it. When it wore out, I bought another one. As long as they keep making this saddle, I will buy it. It's not too hard, not too soft. The cut-out is just enough to give a comfortable ride, even when I use aerobars. Great saddle.

I'm not very used to ergonomic saddles, but my serfas hurts more in my private places. It's greak on my sitting bones and rear end, but it feels like it's pinching me up front some how. I just got my new Trek 2000 and they changed the saddle fore me at the shop. I'm thinking of have it replaced.

I really like my Selle Royal woman's seat. Not real expensive but does the job for me. Narrow front, so I don't rib on anything, and my bones just sit up nice on the pads. I also make sure that I put some baby diaper rash powder on...just in case. Seems to help.

I finally got my saddle replaced with a more cushy sefras modle. This one doesn't have a split front and has lots more cush at the back. The only thing is that is almost feels like there's too much padding in the back. Will I ever be satified? I do have to admit, though, I rode 100 miles last week with no pain, so it can't be too bad.

I have what sounds like the same serfas saddle on my MTB. I've been pretty happy with it as well. I just put a similar saddle on my new road bike. I honestly don't know how men ride with racing saddles when we're happier with the cut outs. More power to 'em. I don't need any more pain in my life.

I also just changed to a mens serfas seat. Love the padding, love the shape, but I must admit, the whole in the center does pinch (not too hard) but it makes things feel weird down there! I guess it'll be something I'll get used to, or I'll grow to hate!

I'll give it some time... we'll see.

Anne, which Brooks saddle did you get? I am still trying to break in my Finesse and I think it is a losing proposition. The guy at the bicycle shop said I should have gotten the B17 because the nose is longer, thus giving more space for the saddle to actually flex.

I've had the Brooks Finesse on my tandem for almost a year and on my road bike since I got it in April. Neither one needed a breaking in period. Thom has the B17 on the tandem and his didn't need breaking in either. After six hours or so on the tandem I can really feel my sit bones because it is a hard saddle. I don't have the problem on my single because I can wiggle around more and do a lot more standing. It might not be the right saddle for you. Hopefully you can return it if it doesn't work out.

Well, I have had my new men's Serfas saddle for a while now, even rod my first 24 hour relay on it, and I must say... the next best thing since sliced bread! It's truely made my ride 100 times better!

Well, alas, I knew it was too good to be true.
The material on my Serfas seat is splitting. It has totally ripped open, as if it were chewed on by a dog (and I don't have any pets!) I've only had the seat maybe 2 months (before i removed it and put my old one back on ) I'm tempted to write Serfas and even sent their peice of crap seat back to them!

Anyone else had similar problems? Or was mine a dud from the factory?
